FEATURED IN THE RECENT 2025 EDITION OF “MINI WORLD MAGAZINE”, remarkably owned by its 1st Owner for 52 years from 1966 right through to 2018. Kept absolutely original today with only having had a sympathetic restoration carried out over a 3yr period in 2019 and is now ready to go having only covered 8,000 miles since. To have one restored today to this standard would cost in excess of £20,000 plus a donor car! This one is fully prepared and just serviced. Last MOT’d in Jan 2024 with the 3 minor advises all dealt with. The car is MOT exempt now. Ready for a new custodian to be cherished and enjoyed and have fun driving one of the most famous, and so rare today, little cars in the world, the Mk 1 Mini. She was invited to be on display this summer (2026) at Goodwood Classic Car Sunday Breakfast Club. I’ve personally driven her about 100 miles, such fun and I’ve gone to other shows and won a cup prize. Delivered New at some £560 on the road in June 1966 by Wellsteeds of Newport Ltd, Newport,Gwent. Tweed Grey with Tartan Red Trim interior and fitted heater, all confirmed in its Heritage Trust Certificate with its original Number Plate KAX226D. It stayed in Monmouthshire for 52yrs until the DVLA confirmed its 1st owner sold the car in 2018. This was when this beautiful little car underwent its almost back to better than new sympathetic restoration. Amazingly the body shell today is the original, still with its factory body tags in the footwell and engine bay, only a few panels were replaced, such as inner A Panels, Sills, Rear Valance, Bonnet and Bootlid. The whole car was repainted, new glass and all rubbers and re chroming. The Original Matching Numbered Engine /Gearbox removed, refurbished and refitted, with new clutch and many ancillaries; water pump, polybush mountings, upgraded starter motor/Electronic Ignition, suspension and brakes all refurbished, new full wiring loom and battery and P700 Headlamps. A beautifully completed Full Interior Re Trim to its 66 Spec by Newton Commercial via Mini Spares Incl New Inertia Seat Belts. Just recently fitted with Brand New Morris Cooper Wheels and Tyres (I have the 850 originals) and complete new exhaust system. All comes independently Pre Delivery checked, HPI clear. An absolutely superb rare example of an Historic Tax/Mot Exempt Morris Mini Mk 1. This wonderful example wants for absolutely nothing, with restoration costs today often well exceeding the car's true value.
